Nice one. Not always an easy catch, this bird. There seems to be a brownish hue over the bird, as if this were shot through well-OOF dry vegetation(?) Nevertheless a nice image, sufficiently devoid of the undergrowth this bird is usually found in.

One of the most challenging birds to picture for not just its size but also being extremely fidgety and nimble. Getting the bird with good details at a low 1/100 SS is simply awesome. The focus seems locked on the branch making the details soft. Loved the composition with space in front and the part of the branch curved towards the bird. The BG and eye contact (thanks t the +'ve eEC) are great assets to this picture.

Cute bird. I like the eye contact. The shutter speed was a bit low. One can often get more birds while walking around in ranganathittu than the boat rides. Thanks for sharing.
