Spotted this beauty while returning back from the banks of river/creek near Uppalla bridge. I saw some form of abmormal growth on this flower but on close inspection I realized it was a crab spider(if am right) sitting patiently for its prey.

Yes, a crab spider. Amazing camouflage. It is a wonder that these creatures have achieved such a level of camouflage that their colour exactly matches that of a specific kind of host flower.

Natures wonder. These spiders also know that their best bet is to remain motionless in the presence of perceived danger. I am wondering whether you shot this at a distance less than the minimum focusing distance of your lens. Thanks for sharing.

May be, just close to its minimum focal distance, as I was standing straight above it to reach the 1.2m minimum focal distance....
