Lovely composition. Do check on the Focus lock for it seems predominant on the leaves in front. Opening up the blacks will add to the frame.

The picture portrays a sense of power and majesty.

Dear Rajan,
Thank you and the digital retouch now looks good. I had posted the image as it is after resizing. The shot was taken at 5 pm on a clody winter day, light was very poor. Nikor 300 f2.8 lens was purchased 10 days before I visited corbett, still trying to familiarize and get used to it. You may be right the focus may have got locked, till now I had a feeling that the leaves on right side were on foreground, and on left were next to the elephant. Regards Debasis Bose

Debasis,
Nice to see this. I agree that opening up the shadows look fine. You can try lightroom. There are some tips in the tips section on processing using lightroom software. We should try to get it right in the camera and then do slight processing if required. I normally don't take more than a minute to resize and do minor corrections like slight opening up shadows, contrast work.

Did you shoot a vertical composition of this elephant? Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi
