Grey Francolin - Calling

Male grey francolin throwing a high decibel challenge at its invisible opponent who immediately answered back kicking off a prolonged vocal duel. Normally a shy bird it was so caught up with demonstrating its vocal superiority that it gave me a chance to get close enough. I have read this bird is commonly called Teetar after the way it calls, frankly to me the call doesn’t sound anything like teetaar its more like teeqee teeqee….. Note the spur on the leg, only males have it.
