I was busy trying to capture a Paradise Flycatcher when what I thought was a crow flew across my lens. This was a split second capture.Canon 60D 100-400mm f5.6 ISO-1600 FL400mm 1/640s Feb morning 2013

You are lucky to get it in the open on a nice perch. Good eye contact. I have still not got a decent image of this bird :-(. There are slight highlights on the branch, you can lower that in post processing. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Nice. the eye and colours have come out well.K gudi is a good place to catch them and also to hear them. Last time i was there both saw and heard one inside the JLR premises.

Lovely bird. They colours of this bird will make those of a Silk sari pale by comparison. The eye contact is fine. Foreigners often talk about the rich colours that they find here in India. I tell them that our colour palette of our painters in earlier days evolved from trying to replicate the colours found in nature. I am hoping to record the beautiful song of this bird. Thanks for sharing.
