I am posting this image, taken with a different combination of camera equipment, on a different safari, on a later day and cropped on your request.Canon60D+100-400 FL400mm 1/640s ISO500 F5/6.The turtles ignoring the Python seem to be in confrontation.The Python remained there during the course of three days that we spent there, digesting his meal very much out of the reach of most reasonable camera lenses.In the photographs I had taken earlier he looked visibly larger and seemed to be curled in a squarish shape.Feb 2014 late morning.

The python seems to be well fed. In the Canon cameras you can find the highlight indicator. The overexposed areas blink when you review the images in the camera. When you have time you can give a cursory glance and then dial in negative exposure compensation if needed. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the appraisals Saktipadaji and.Sabyasachi.Sabyasachi, I am aware of highlight factor as you had pointed it out earlier , but sometimes I tend to neglect it in the heat of the moment.
