We saw quite a few giant squirrels. Stopped for a while to observe a couple making merry of the place. She jumped and then he jumped. Managed to get this shot.

Nikon D7000, f/8, SS 1/1000, ISO 640, 420mm (Nikon 300mm F4 +1.4x TC)

Spectacular image of Ratufa Indica leaping from treetop to tree top through air. Strictly speaking it is not flying; and a leap of nearly 10 feet* may be taken, not much more than that. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Good to see a behaviour which is intrinsic to the animal. It is not easy to get critical focus in the split second especially when the subject on a tree top with branches and leaves where the focus can easily get locked. Since one is virtually aiming at the sky, there are always chances of underexposure when using the regular metering modes. The position of the bushy tail tells us the use of the tail in balancing. Thanks for sharing.
