Tough scene. Wish you had done a wider composition because only the tip of the trunk is seen. Based on the cruvature of the head and the focus on the elephant's eye, our attention travels inwards to the torn ear. About two stops narrow aperture would have been good along with a slightly wider composition. Thanks for sharing.

The details in the eye are nice. As you were using a 300 f4, moving a bit backwards for a wider composition would have helped. Thanks for sharing.

thanks for the reviews...
moving back would require starting our jeep, that was a tough job with elephant at such a close range. Though I totally agree, I should had used f8 or f11...
