Spotted during last weekend's bird walk at Gorai jetty, this sandpiper was busy feeding itself along the pathway and trying to keep safe distance from the passer-byes.

EXIF:
Canon EOS 550D
Canon 55-250IS
Shutterspeed: 1/400
F-7.1
ISO 125 (auto)
Handheld
Location Gorai jetty, Borivali

Wanted to get a lower shot but the pathway was itself a feet or two higher than the marshy area and was too filthy and slippery(low tide had started an hour or two back)

Good details. The eye is sharp. Agree a lower angle would have been nice, but you would have gone into the mud, dont think you are as light as the sandpiper :). Thanks for sharing.

I would surely have got into the mud, but a recent trip along with school kids made me realize the power of it, when a kid, out of enthusiasm put one of his foot onto the mud and he almost got dragged into it, thanks to some alert seniors and colleagues he was quickly pulled out, but his whole leg went in within spark of a moment.

Beautiful shot. That area is nice for birding. Shot anything else there?

Few other birds like little stint, kites, some stork (was too far off to identify), white cheecked bulbul, red whiskered and red vented bulbul, prinias, tailorbird, some brown colored bird (flew off to quickly into the mangroves), starlings (including Asian pied couple) and also loads of dog faced water snakes along with a variety of crabs
