Drama unfolds at Periyar tiger Reserve,Kerala........And no Tiger is involved!

When we saw a herd of Sambar deer, nobody realized what had just happened.......One of their clan was hunted down by a group of Wild Dogs.....The rest of the clan didn't have a clue what to do....They just watched as the big group of Dholes devoured one among them.......(We didn't see the hunt but only saw the Sambarr group and Wild Dogs eating something....)

A nice scene of of "Nature's Play" beautifully documented. The Sambar herd is still on full alertness, has taken its line of defence in knee-deep water, a very natural behaviour, before the next move; the image also conveys Dhole's (though not seen here) dislike to engage Sambar (or Chital) in water. Nevertheless Dholes are known to attack near the bank of the lake or waterbody. Very soothing image. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Lovely representation of natural drama.A larger dimension, I think, would have added to the image. Thanks for sharing.

The repost with more display of the habitat looks good. Maybe moving the camera up, to remove the tree trunks and include more of the trees in the background would have been nice. The alert pose of the sambars nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.
