This is a record shot of my first sighting of Leopard. The sighting did not last for more than few seconds. After one hard hide and seek game with this leopard at least i could get a glimpse of him. There were 2 more jeeps with us trying to get a glimpse of him. Listening to the alarm calls of a peacock, and few deer from one direction and some movement in bushes we gathered at one opening of the bush waiting eagerly when the leopard will cross path..unexpectedly the leopard crossed the path from the opposite side of the bush while we were not even aware and had our backs against him. He just came and disappeared into another bush with speed. While he was disappearing in the bushes i took this shot

I know this image considering the photography attitude is not a perfect one as we see different leopard perfect breathtaking images but this remains special for me being the first Leopard sighting in wild. There is no head turn no eye contact..only my thrill and eagerness just to see him and capture him in my camera resulting in this image. Hope to see many more in wild.

Nice. Considering this was a fleeting glimpse, it is quite a clear shot. Congrats. Where was this seen? Were you in a vehicle?
I am yet to see a leopard. There have been several occasions where I have seen very fresh signs of leopard presence, and once even heard a leopard attacking a village dog very close by. Yet to see the animal itself though.

Nice, in fact my first leopard photo was almost similar to this one - walking away from me. The details are nice. All the best with the spots in the days to come.

thanks for sharing

Good to know that you had your first leopard sighting. Same question as Abhishek. Where did you sight this leopard?

Spectacular image!!!! The image reminds the famous words of Sir Jim Corbett "Those who have not seen a leopard under favorable conditions in his natural surroundings can have no conception of the grace of movement, and beauty of coloring, of this the most graceful and the most beautiful of all animals in our Indian jungles".

Nice freeze in a moment. Heavily built, long tail, coat richly patterned. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
