Nice eye contact. The colours have come out well. As it is a crop, you could have placed the eye on the rule of thirds, that would have enhanced the composition further. Thanks for sharing. Check the below link for more details -

The eye contact is fine. One can find them in jheels and marshy areas. I have fond memories of clicking these birds behind my house in bhubaneshwar when the marsh was still good enough. Now with dumping of construction debris, the place is all but killed, like many wetlands in other parts of our country.

If possible waiting at one place may result in these birds coming closer. Thanks for sharing.
