Himalayan Bulbul (Pycnonotus leucogenys), photographed in Nagni, Himachal Pradesh.

Older editions of bird guides mention this bird as a race of the white-eared bulbul (P. leucotis). The length and forward curvature of the crest is diagnostic of these northern birds, now a separate species. The white-eared bulbul's range as a species is presently restricted to the NW part of the subcontinent.

Lovely capture.Nice perch and eye contact and composition. The yellow vent is also clearly visible.I saw them at Corbett but was unable to get a good image. Thanks for sharing.

The crest looks nice. The eye contact is good too. Though the depth of field is nearly there due to the crop. So I think trading of about 2/3rd stop of shutter speed for aperture might have been even better. Thanks for sharing.

It looks more than a record image :). The crest looks nice. Good eye contact with catchlight. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks all.
Mrudul: "Record" because of the large crop, steep angle and for photographing without composing. :)
