Nice. A little more DoF for the tail would have been better.
The nomenclature of this species has been confusing. Salim Ali referred to it (in the 13th edition) as the "yellow throated sparrow, Petronia xanthocollis". Grimett, Inskipp & Inskipp retained the same scientific name but called it the "chestnut-shouldered petronia", as a consequence most newcomer birdwatchers don't recognise the name yellow-throated sparrow anymore. In their newest edition, the same authors retain this common name but the binomial has changed to "Gymnoris xanthocollis", which compounds the confusion by classifying this bird in a genus other than Petronia (which is still an existing group) but still calling it a petronia by common name. :001_huh:

For obvious reasons, I prefer to stick to the nomenclature used by Salim Ali!

Nice eye contact and pose. Were you handholding or using tripod? How much of a crop is this?
