Canon60D+100-400mm ISO800 1/500s F/6.3.Dandeli late morning, May, 2014.The male was also present but I was so busy capturing the female I did not realize they were distinctive.The male has a black head and nape.

Nice to see this bird. It is underexposed. When the camera is pointed up and more of sky is visible, the camera meter exposes as per the brighter sky. Dialing in a positive exposure compensation during such situations will help in correctly exposing the subject. Thanks for sharing.
