I am wondering why the background appear smudged. Is it a large crop? Where was this clicked? A lower shutter speed would have been fine here. You could have used f8 which would have given you more depth of field. Thanks for sharing.

Try and get closer to the bird, also check if the subject is properly in focus before clicking. There is a lot of information on the basics of photography in the below section. Try and go through this and your images will improve. All the best

Nice eye contact. The low angle looks good. Agree more details would have enhanced the image further. Sitting and waiting for a bird patiently helps to get it closer or you can try using a hide. Thanks for sharing.
