The image needs more brightness. Is this a large crop? The details in the face is not visible. One of the reasons is that the light is from the right side of the frame and the shadow side of its head is towards you. If the lapwing would have turned its head in the other direction, the sunlight would have illuminated it. Thanks for sharing.

It is not cropped. The bird was bank of Naki Lake of Mount Abu, I don't have choice to take angle for eye contact.
