A huge tusker in musth advancing in Dhikala forest with trunk resting on tusk, Jim Corbett, May 2014. We retreated around 1 km when this massive beautiful creature was advancing in Dhikala road. This photograph was taken in the morning at around 7 when we were going to Dhikala mess. While returning back at around 1:30pm we again met this huge tusker walking on Dhikala road near Kinnanauli. He has walked all along the road for around 4-5 km.

Imposing personality of National Heritage Animal of India ( since Oct, 2010). India-shaped ears, one-fingured trunk of Asiatic Elephant...........all beautifully documented. Incredible India. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

The hump on the head is nicely documented. African elephants don't have that. Also as pointed out by Shaktipada ji the single finger on the tip of the lip is clearly seen.

Lowering the brightness would be great. A slightly lower angle would have been nice. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
