Photographed on 29th June 2014 in Bangalore.

The unusual mating scene of Indian palm Squirrel (Stripped Squirrel) in the open and also during this period. The breeding period is from October to April and normally mating happens in the nest on the tree tops.
The gestation period is for 34 days and normally gives birth to 2-3 young ones.

Good that you could record this scene. How long did it last?

It lasted for about 2 mins, after the act both male and female went their own ways. Last 10 to 15 days I had noticed that they were very active and were running around together and made lots of noise but after the act they don't run around together and don't hear them calling anymore.
Hopefully I get to see and record the young once in about 30 days.

Good you could document this behavior. Seems there is change in their natural behavior :(. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.
