Technically this may not be up to the mark shot, but spotting this bird in the low morning light of Shimla & capturing it with my limited ISO capability camera was very satisfying.

Nice sighting of this rare bird. Good eye contact. You have captured it well in the given conditions. Why EC -0.7? Thanks for sharing.

I thaught, I will adjust the brightness in PP but not the shake, to get the shutterspeed I did so.

1/60 was a bit low. However you were operating at ISO 800 which is high for the EOS 30D. Nevertheless good that you could spot it. Thanks for sharing.

Rare bird to capture , it's good that firstly you spotted her/him and then able to capture thru your lens.
Surprisingly even at EC = -0.7 & ISO- 800 you are getting TV-1/60.
Which camera were you using?
With 7D , you can go up to ISO-3200 with very little noise which can be corrected in PP and that would have helped you getting higher shutter speed and thus much sharper image. TFS
