The call of the smallest frog in India- the miniature night frog (Nyctibatrachus minimus)
The adult males of this species are just over a centimetre long. This was recorded from just a few inches' distance.

Recorded at a stream in shola forest near Kakkabe, Kodagu (Karnataka) at approx. 1400m amsl. The known records of this species are restricted to the hills in this locality (Wayanad).

Recorded on a smartphone using ASR Recorder, edited using WavePad for Android.

Shall post images of this frog later...

Abhishek,
I love the various frog recordings that you are sharing with us. After hearing these frog calls one can now recognise the presence of this species when we trek in the wilds.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Loud and clear. The spring water can also be heard clearly hinting about its habitat. It good you are recording this. Thanks for sharing.
