While I followed it around I saw the scorpion being reduced to a succulent morsel by strategic clipping of its powerful beak.It was then duly swallowed and then carried by the bird to its nesting hole in a tree close by, where, no doubt, it was regurgitrated to be consumed by hungry chicks.Dandeli ,May evening 2014.

Its good here you could get the bird to face you. As you have mentioned the fangs are removed. Nice documentation. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see this from the front. Wonder how they get the training to skillfully handle these poisonous prey. I think this is an adult male hornbill and is taking the food for the female. Thanks for sharing.

nice moment and well captured. It seems to have got rid of both the pincers and also the sting.
