This visitor had entered our home early in the morning and tried to stay at less illuminated area. I noticed its hatred for light when I tried to put on the mobile light to get better lighting and it flew off and was roaming around in the same wall for some moment and settled on another less illuminated area of the wall. No idea when it left home as it wasnt around when I returned from work. Didnt have my DSLR so took this snap from my old love Canon S5 IS. It was close to an inch in size (overall)

EXIF:
Canon S5IS
F/3.2
1/60
ISO 80 (higher leads to graining in the 6 yr old cam)
Hand held, inbuilt flash used
Slightly processed to reduce the shadow of the lens at the lower end

Location: Dahisar, Mumbai

The built-in flash ensures the top portion is illuminated. If the complete frame would have been brightly illuminated then it would have looked even better. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a Painted Crane Fly Pseliophora sp. But I don't seem to recall the feathery antennae.
The small knob like structures under the wings (halteres) indicate that the insect is a fly (order Diptera).
