Hi Hari,

Good behaviour captured. Was it possible for you to move a bit to the left while photographing, to avoid the tree on the right and also get the full frame of the elephant. There is some noise in the image.Is this a crop?

A vertical orientation would have been good in this case as the legs have been cutoff.

Hi Sabyasachi,
Could not do a vertical orientation as i was behind a bush and either ways would not have got his legs. secondly i was on foot and quite close to him.This Tusker is very temperamental, have been watching him for 2 years now, would have been in a spot if he had seen me.

Hi Mrudul,
This is not a cropped image. I just could not avoid the tree on the right and as i have replied earlier, would have been a tad risky to step out from behind the tree fully. There was a bush covering the legs, u may see the bottom of the picture, some out of focus leaves, the top of the bush.

Nice record shot. As Mrudul pointed out, seems to be a bit of noise and is a little soft (maybe some sharpening will help), Pls post the Exif details, for my guess is the shutter speed would have been low (hence the softness)

Agree with you that it is risky to expose yourself to any animal, especially when you are on the ground and quite close to the subject. Better to be safe and wait for the next safe chance for the next great photo.
