After quite a long time, spent the weekend at Bandipur along with Sabyasachi and Mrudul (Sorry Roopak, missed you by a whisker)

It was drizzling that evening and light was low when we saw this guy emerge from the bushes.

5D Mark II, Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM, F5, ISO 400, 1/80, Bean Bag mounted. Manual Exposure, Manual White Balance

Light was pretty low. Else a narrow aperture would have been good. With so much of lantana it is a big challenge for these gentle giants to find the right quantity and quality of food. Even the bamboo clumps, one of the favourite food of elephants, were broken and dead primarily due to the lantana. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Nice composition. It was sad to see that in Bandipur, elephants are charging and becoming agitated very easily. Maybe due to the traffic on the main road :(. The wrinkles look nice. Thanks for sharing.

Nice Head on frame. I feel you can pull back on the sharpening slightly (a few sharpening halos are visible around the trunk and legs).

Look forward to more from the trip. Thanks for sharing.

Nice framing. Dignified look. Like me, it is not happy that NE India is not shown in the image (left ear). Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
