This is a photo from my archive. It was taken during my first trip to Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary, Odisha (November,2012).
We were on our way to a nearby dam inside the forest and suddenly I saw a creature standing right in the middle of the road and staring at our approaching vehicle. At first it seemed like a stray dog..but as we went closer, I realized that it was way too big to be a dog, it was the Indian Wolf ! Before we could go any closer, the creature vanished inside the bushes within seconds. This made me a bit disappointed because I was just about to take a picture but, that was my lucky day! Just, as we got close to that spot where it was standing, I looked towards those bushes with a hope that I'd get to see it for one last time. And then, I took this picture :001_rolleyes:

Lovely eye contact here Swaroop. The dark thin tree divides the frame into two halves which is a bit distracting since it draws our eye to look for a point of interest in the left half as well. But a very rare sighting for sure. You did good under the circumstances. Is it full frame?

Thanks for sharing.

Your shutter speed was pretty low. What time of the day was this clicked? When the subject is behind vegetation, it is better to use manual focus. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot sir.
It was taken during the late evening and light was pretty low :( And yes sir I did use manual focus, it was almost impossible for my lens to Auto Focus properly in that situation.
