King Cobra is an intelligent snake and has gentle temperament except for when guarding the nest or feels very much disturbed. While on foot once my friend took photograph of the snake from a distance of, say 15 to 20 ft. and it did not show any reaction.
Did you take this photograph from inside a vehicle with doors and window glasses (almost) closed? What could be the reasons behind its anger? I find some dry leaves around. Was it building or guarding the nest? And what was the distance between you two?
