It was an unexpected sighting which took place, while travelling enroute from the entrance gate, to the Dikhala forest guest house. The bird was flitting from branch to branch high up in the thick canopy of tall magnificent trees, gorging on fruits.Unfortunately I could not get it in the clear.Canon 60D+100-400mm 1/640s ISO 1600 F/5.6 late morning just before a thunder storm under poor light conditions in April 2014.

Nice sighting of this colourful bird. Its good you managed to get some eye contact. I would have liked a bit more space on the right for a more rectangular composition than the present square one. You did well in the given conditions. Thanks for sharing.

Tough scene to shoot. The hornbill is in its own habitat so we can't also wish that the leaves were not there. Can just wish for a clear view when it decides to move to a different branch. This is such a beautiful bird with a colourful casque and makes sightings memorable. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
