Unless there is a real need it is better to not post nesting bird images. I do shoot with long lenses knowing that the birds won't get disturbed. However people may get encouraged to create a close up and move in very close with a small lens. We should remember that the welfare of a species is more important than the image. We click thousands of images, and a majority of those remain in the hard disk. So we ought to think before we click.

In UK one needs to take permission to click nesting birds. In India there is no specific law on this issue. I am sharing an incident which had shaped my belief about ethics in nature photography. Sharing it here: http://www.indiawilds.com/diary/ethics-in-nature-photography/
