It is a male Shikra not Honey Buzzard. I have corrected the id. The landing pose is nice, but it seems the focus is locked on the branch. While capturing birds in flight using centre AF point can help, also higher shutter speed is needed to freeze the action. Thanks for sharing.

It would have been great if we could have seen a wider composition of both the birds. However, that would be difficult to capture since the movements of predator and prey would be frantic and not in a straight line. The focus appears to be locked off in front on the branches.

In all the cameras the central AF point is the strongest. Of course now more cross type AF points are being introduced along with the centre point. However, it is easier to lock focus using the centre point and then allow the other AF points to slowly lock focus to suit your composition and then click. Thanks for sharing.
