Magnificent male both in respect of body and antlers. Sariska and Hazaribagh are two forests where Sambar attains most impressive size. It appears that the colour of the coat has changed with onset of winter in the north.
Nice eye contact. Nice and natural behaviour - Sambar wallowing in winter captured so well. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Nice behaviour captured. Good eye contact. Did you try a horizontal framing? I am not sure, please check if the AF point locked in the foreground? Thanks for sharing.

Apropos of my posting at 11.34 P.M on 30 Nov 2014, another notable feature of this majestic specimen is that while the antlers are long and thick; the brow tines do seem to be least developed (what I could see in this image). If you have any other image of the head gear taken from from a different angle; you may post it , if you so desire.
Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

These fellows are very fond of wallowing in the mud, a habit not shared by cheetal.

Did you click this late in the evening? Did you use AWB or did you manually set a white balance? The top portion of the body and background seems to have undergone unpleasant noise reduction.
