thats a nice catch of a shy bird jerry.....good eye contact , a slightly wider compo and more DOF wud be nice as well, avoiding that bright stick in the FG if possible would have enhanced the frame.

Tips you will get, support you will have to buy it yourself, nobody is that generous with a tripod....:laugh:

You are using a lens with maximum focal length of 250mm. So if you crop a lot then the image will lose details. It would be better to try and create a composition without cropping which shows the bird in a pleasing habitat. It is not easy. However, it would be good if you continue trying because when you get it right, the image will really shine.

You may look at this tutorial : http://www.indiawilds.com/forums/showthread.php?268 to improve sharpness.

When we were learning photography, the motto was "f8 and you are there" which encouraged us to use higher depth of field. So use a narrow aperture like f8 or higher and track the bird. When you feel the background is right, the eye contact is fine and the bird is doing something meaningful, press the shutter.

Cheers,

Nice sighting of this shy bird. It is camouflaged so well with the background. Agree with the above comments. Thanks for sharing.

Nice sighting. Good eye contact. The image depicts how nature provides and the bird uses the camouflage for its survival and in return balance of nature is maintained. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
