Birding was fantastic in Corbett. The morning I took this picture we were in Jhirna and we could hear the call of the Pied Hornbills. We traced them to a tree closeby. Then they started flying towards a tree near us. We counted almost 60 pied hornbills and then came the lovely 4 Great Hornbills. Looked like some big party out there.

Nikon D7000, f/5.6, SS 1/1250,ISO 800, 420mm (Nikon 300mm f4+1.4x TC). Cropped a bit.

Its great that you could sight so many hornbills at one place. Such majestic and colourful birds. Nice eye contact. Slight more space at the bottom and on the left would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

It is great that you saw so many pied hornbills. I love the red eye of the male. If the angle is right, one gets to see the full red of the eye. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

Nice. I like the angle here. It's as though the bird turned to show its beak in full sunlight. :)
A very majestic bird. Inspires awe even in people who are not birdwatchers. I haven't seen one in the Terai yet (seen them in the North east and in the Western Ghats).
