Katydid (American Name) / Bush-Crickets (British) / Long Horn Grasshopper.

You got a good natural history moment. Is this image cropped? I find the image a bit tight. The legs form interesting lines.

Would have loved a narrow aperture. However, the shutter speed was low.

Nice image. Agree abt it being a bit tight... You can see the size of the female. in a lot of insect species, the male is many times smaller than the female...

Yes I cropped this image to show up with clear eyes and body patterns.

Also antennas are really very long, it would need more 80% space in the image. And Macro wouldn't be possible. Length of these tow insects in this pose was around 12 cm.

Nice info on various names provided by you. These are crickets to be more accurate, not grasshoppers. The ones with the very long antennae are crickets.
Only for adults? Lucky I turned 18 a few months ago. :D

Nice behaviour captured. Quite rare to photograph. The patterns made by the legs and the dotted texture on the skin is interesting.
