The beginning of the territorial fight...may be friendly fight this time. This was during my latest visit to SGNP, when, while capturing a Kingfisher, a parakeet couple came near the branch where the Kingfisher was seated. Later the couple flew to another tree nearby and was inspecting the small hollow in the tree, while a moment later another couple came flying in, one of them captured in this frame. There seemed to be some minor fight among them and later, after a short noisy fly aways, the couple seen in the frame flew off to a different spot while the incoming couple also flew off to a different area.

Good you could get three birds in one frame. Liked the details and the eye contact. It seems they too are facing space issues in Mumbai :). Thanks for sharing.

A good nesting place is always in high demand and various species compete for it during the breeding season. Some of our Jataka tales also have stories about disputes arising from another species using an abandoned nesting cavity of a tree. Thanks for sharing.
