A Pallid Harrier (female) with a grasshopper catch from the Nrityagrama grasslands in Hesarghatta. The original lake bed has transformed into an amazing waterfowl habitat with species like Northern Pintails, Northern Shovellers, Bar Headed Geese, Black winged stilts, grebes and cormorants to name a few. The harriers are now seen frequently in a nearby grassland.

Good to know about the harriers visiting hessarghatta. Haven't been there for years. Nice pose here. Contrast seems to be a bit higher which deepens the red. Thanks for sharing.

Nice perch. The raised wings look nice. Good to know lot of birds are visiting the place. Is the cattle grazing reduced? Also I had seen lot of trolleys carrying the mud, is that stopped or still continuing? Thanks for sharing.

All those activities were in the lake area which is currently underwater. So that solved a lot of the mud issues. Cattle do still graze around the lakeside.

I have not seen cattle in the new grasslands yet.
