Nice image. Is it cropped from bottom? Slight more space there would have been good. You could have tried a vertical composition. Thanks for sharing.

The image is a bit dark. The dark background is more of a distraction. The eye contact is fine. Some more space at the bottom would have been better. For tall birds, vertical composition works out better, as they appear tightly fit in horizontal compositions. Thanks for sharing.

Please correct the title, its a western reef egret. Nothing much to add on the critic part.

I agree with ID made by Krishnadas Bhai. Rare sightings of this migrant, the Western Reef Egret, have been reported from two or three locations not far off from Monigram in West Bengal during the last and the present winter.

Shakti da I feel this is an immature grey heron ...the silhouette and bill shape are a give away, also the black lining on the neck and lower primaries in slightly visable.

Thank you everyone for your comments.I must say that this is not western reef egret but an immature grey heron as Mr. Gangadharan explained.
