Nandur Madhyameshwar is a lake built due to the dam at the confluence of Godawari and Kodwa rivers near Nashik.
Over the last 90 years, silt and organic matter have made the lake waters shallow and nutrient rich, making this place an important birding area. Between september and march, tens of thousands of migratory birds visit this place.

This is a very very large water body, and as one can see from this image, there is plenty of human activity in creating small embankments, landfilling and claiming the land.

Nice pano showing the habitat. These bunds and land filling will destroy the habitat for birds. Does this place comes under the FD? Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mrudul. Yes it does. In fact they are considering it for a Ramsar Site. It's already listed as Important Birding Area of Maharashtra. (IBA Site Code: IN-MH-11).
