Nandur Madhyameshwar is an important birding area of Maharashtra. Situated some 40km from Nashik towards Niphad, it comes alive in the winters with tens of thousands of migratory birds.

In the distant light green algae, what the camera (nikon D800, 80-400G at almost 400mm) couldn't see were thousands of swifts hovering for insects. Things which i could only see with my binoculars (8-40). Since the land around the waterbody is marshy, one couldnt walk closer. And there are no boats (thankfully).

Nice image showing the habitat. Good to know lot of birds are visiting the place and as there are no boats, tourists visiting the place would be less. It would be a good place for bird watching (unless you have very long lenses :)). Thanks for sharing.

True. I think a spotting scope woule be very useful here.
