Nikon 7100+300mm+1.4 tc 1/1600s ISO800 f/7.1 Bhadra late morning Feb 2015.A whole flock comprising of 8-10 birds descended on a tree outside the sanctuary area .The gave me a few seconds for clicking before they took off in a flurry of flapping wings.I have never seen so many of these rare birds together. It was an awe inspiring sight.

I too have usually sighted it in 1 or 2 numbers. Sighting a big flock is rare. Good you got it in the clear. Nicely composed. It seems sighting at Bhadra has improved. When we visited in 2007, we only sighted a few deers and that too very far. Thanks for sharing.

Majestic bird. It is good that you got the eye in the clear despite the branches. Once I had sighted a huge flock in Corbett at Malani at dawn. It is also impressive to hear when a number of them are calling. Thanks for sharing.
