Had photograpghed this early last year near bangalore. One of my first photos with the 100-400mm lens.

Canon 350D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 100, f5.6

Comments and critiques welcome..

Lovely shot. Only wish the OOF stick wasn't there. Also there are some slightly distracting white patches near the bottom, which I expect can be cloned out. The bird has come out very nice and sharp. The position of the wings also looks interesting. Compo also is good.

Thanks Abhishek. I too would have preferred the stick to be not there.

Mrudul, the dark eye-stripe of the bee-eater is always something to watch out for.

Apana, I've seen you mention countless times that the stripe is something to watch out for. I don't quite understand why.
Can you explain?

Nice shot. Perfect perch and lovely sharp image.
Do mention crop % if possible.
