Tough scene. It would have been great if its right eye (on our left in the image) would not have been blocked by the grass. Looks like the light was low. The ear is cut and will act as a defining mark for the tourists. Where was it clicked? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Sabyasachi. I shot this in Tadoba. The tigress was barely 20 feet away from us..it was late evening, around 6.10 pm.

..I was tempted to remove that grass blade (of course not physically), but decided not to...

Nice portrait. Good details. Its good you did not remove the grass (in post processing) as it is always better to show the habitat as it is. I think Sabyasachi just meant that he wished the grass was not blocking the eye, nothing that you could do about it. Inspite of the grass the eyes are in good focus. There was one tigress in Bandhavgarh who was called 'Kan Kati' if I remember correctly :). Thanks for sharing.
