Spotted this resting on top of a hibiscus plant. The overall size,especially its eyes and the unique colour gradation made me try out something to experiment with wider aperture only highlighting the complex eyes of it.

I think it is a type of a bee. Good details in the compound eyes. One antennae seems to be shorter than the other. Experts please help with the id. Thanks for sharing.

This is a typical male tabanid. In the females, the eyes do not touch each other along the midline, and the cutting mouthparts are prominent.
