Swamp Deer in beautiful landscape of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. Unfortunately, animal sightings are extremely poor in the park.

Nice. lovely scene. a slightly off centered compo will look good as well. we are a land of paradoxes, conflict due to increasing animal densities on one side and wonderful habitats with poor populations on the other.

Dear Rupak, You have summarized it very well. In fact I visited Pilibhit Tiger Reserve also and did two safari's, beautiful sal forest, grassland, water flowing through the periphery of the park and one huge 22 km long fresh water lake. But did not even sight a bird or animal in the 8 hours safari other than jungle fowl, peacock, two neel gai at periphery and three chital stags. Forest employee are not at all motivated nor did I sight any other tourist. It was all by myself. Regards Debasis Bose

Nice environment --- vast grassy swamp with mist hanging over it, tall trees behind as curtain and the swamp deer in the midst of this beautiful scene, nicely captured. Is it a male which has shed its horn?
Bad luck, something has gone wrong somewhere. May be the Swamp Deer has shifted to other blocks, the Elephants which are seen in large herds after rains might have gone back to Barida or Suklapantha or the guide lacks zest or knowledge or all combined.

Nice scene with verdant grasslands and a golden jewel in middle :-) . This is one of few last remnants of Tarai ecosystem. May be fragmentation is taking a toll, and nobody can rule out poaching anywhere in India.

Nice scene. The mist at a distance looks nice. Sad to hear that there are hardly any sightings. There are many poaching cases from dudhwa and encroachment is always a challenge. How many days were you there in Dudhwa? Thanks for sharing.
