The red-wattled lapwing has characteristic loud alarm calls which are variously rendered as "did he do it or pity to do it". T widely and usually keeps in pairs or trios in well-watered open country, ploughed fields, grazing land, and margins and dry beds of tanks and puddles. In West Bengal it is popularized by the local name, "Haa ti ti".

Nice flight pose. Wish the light was falling on the eye. An offcentered composition would be nice. In Marathi we call it 'Titwi'. Thanks for sharing.

They are fairly common birds and one can wait at the right spot to get closeups. It would have been good if the light had fallen on its head. In Sanskrit and in Odiya it is known as "titiva". They are noisy and fly away to take attention from their chicks or eggs. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi
