The black-headed ibis is also known as Oriental White Ibis which is now categorized as Near-threaten bird in India by IUCN.

Nice sighting of a flock of black-headed ibis in flight. A bit more space at the top would be nice. Thanks for sharing.

Flight formation of Black-headed Ibis so nicely captured. This 'Diamond formation' as Madam Shyamala has already mentioned, is a difficult flight operation for aircrafts, so easy for birds to maintain distance.
In case of 'V' formation, the increase in efficiency is about 71%; we see them when flocks of birds flying high and covering long distances before and after winter.
