The squirrel is in shade. If some sunlight would have fallen on it, then it would have looked better. A bit more brightness will be good. One can get some nice images of the squirrels as they are common. Unfortunately, we don't spend time in clicking such common subjects.

In this image the squirrel is centrally placed. If you select the auto focus points on the side, then the squirrel will be off-centre and the composition will improve.
