Found in most of the Indian mainland excluding North-East region after North-Bengal and also not found in Indian Island.Indian rock python may overlap with its sister species Burmese python in North India.
Indian Rock python is one of the most threatened species due to-Road kill mortality;killing due to conflict in agricultural fields and around water bodies due to its large size;due to miss identification and confusion with venomous species Russells Viper which shared almost same kind of habitat.

Heavily-built specimen. Composition is good and dark-brown blotches have come out well. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Great sighting. The head is not in focus. Since you have used f5.6 aperture, the depth of field is less. So less area is in focus. In this case the head is away from you with the body being closer. So it would have been better to use a narrow aperture like f9/f11 etc, so that the head may have also come in focus.

When you stop down to a narrow aperture like f8 and beyond the shutter speed drops down. So you need to be careful as well.

Nice picture of the snake... it seems this snake still has some more growing in its kitty, not yet a full adult I suppose. Where was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.
