The thrust, balance and target acquisition..........wonderful capture. From another aspect this photograph also enlightens us that Rhesus may also venture for long leap from treetop to treetop occasionally, though not as frequent as Common Langur does. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Lovely mid-air pose photographed. Surely a big leap. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting. Since the subject is against the sky and light, monochrome treatment looks good. It must have gone to the edge of the branches and taken the leap. In places like Manas and other north-east forests, getting down from the tall trees to the ground and then climbing up another tree is a lot of effort as well as has its dangers, so a number of species prefer to remain and travel in the canopy. So this image is good for education purposes. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

Nice image, well timed. Loss of canopy results in loss of food source and increased risk of predation with consequent reduction in populations. The canopy is the rain forest primates world.

Thanks a lot to shaktida, Mrudulji, Sabysachida and Roopakji,
This an unexpected shot for me and I was not prepared that I will get such a shot. And I did not think that this was a very good one and I was not confident enough whether it was upto the mark for posting it in the Forum. Still, I posted it having in mind that it might be interesting for some other people.
.....Now, after viewing all the very valuable comments you have posted, many new horizons of the wild and of the Rhesus Macaque has opened up for me and have enriched my experiences. I particularly value a great deal of the comments of Roopakji, -'The canopy is the rain forest primates world'.
Thanks again.
