After Long Time.
In hectic work schedule a days holiday connecting Sunday is consolation price. I decided to grab the opportunity with both hands. and made a sprint to my home... Just 640KM. and it was worth. Last moment ticket cancellation and decided to travel by car.... overnight driving.... and finally the price worth putting efforts for.

Beautiful image. The colours of Three-toed Dwarf Kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca) nicely documented. Not very common except near the Sundarbans, size smaller than Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis). Small fish, shrimp and of course crabs in the Sundarbans. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Lovely looking bird. Did you sight it in your own village or some other place? I haven't got a shot of this kingfisher yet. Like many other in my list, I plan and then push it to the background. :)

Thanks for compliments. Not exactly in my village. In Konkan there are many places for sighting Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher popularly called ODKF. This one is from Chiplun. There is connecting holiday on 15th August & 16th :)

A super pic! Great clarity and sharpness and you've got the exposure and white balance spot on....yet to see this beauty in the wild...tried in Tambdi Surla near Molem, but no luck...need to plan a trip
